Thread starter Marineta Start date Jun 21, Marineta Registered User. Jun 21, 17 0 1 49 Country. I just joined this wonderful association and I am so glad I did!
I've this old Waterbury Mantle clock for a few years now. It never worked, but I loved the look and the feel of it on my fireplace. I finally decided to try figuring out if I could fix it. I've never fixed old clocks but I like to think I am pretty mechanically inclined, I do fix electronics, totally different level of mechanism, but what's the worst that can happen, I opened it and I was hooked! I found the problem with a missing mainspring pin and a rivet, I shook the empty box and here came the pin from one of the hollow leg areas!
I was so excited. I had to order the rivet and it came quickly. It didn't match perfectly, I needed to gently file the holes, but it worked out perfectly. I cleaned every part in an ultrasonic cleaner, I started putting it together - what a pain, thankfully I had a ton of pictures.
