Play a part in athletes reaching their peak performance. Get the opportunity to learn critical sports therapy theory and the hands-on skills that make it happen. Learn how to assist athletes with wide-ranging injury assessments and sport-specific rehabilitation programmes. This means you'll explore functional rehabilitation and contemporary approaches in sports injury management.
We recognise that specific skills aren't always developed in the classroom. You'll be supported to gain experience in real-world environments. To do this you'll have access to our strong industry links of over placement providers across the North West. These placement providers range from professional to amateur-level sports clubs.
You'll gain knowledge to develop and lead an exercise class to a healthy population and understand the physiological responses of the body to exercise. This will include development of your understanding of kinesiological principles and the use of hydrotherapy for exercise prescription. This particular course content teaches how normal physiology and pathological processes impact on human movement. The aims of this module are: To provide the you with the fundamental anatomical knowledge of the neuromusculoskeletal system.
To address the gross anatomy of the human structure in relation to anatomical landmarks, surface anatomy and the underpinning knowledge required to understand the relationship between anatomical structure and function. To develop your understanding of osteology, arthrology, myology and neurology, to take a hands-on approach to delivery and provide you with the professional and practical skills essential for a therapist.
