You can help to make a difference by Having a Sober Plan! All it takes is a little planning. On January 28, , Sheriff's Office Investigators arrested Michael Scoca, 60, of New Rochelle and Mahopac, during an investigation into bad checks written to a Southeast concrete business. The investigation began in November , when a deputy took a report from the victim business that they had received two checks from the suspect for concrete deliveries to a Mahopac address.
Both the business and the investigator attempted to contact the suspect and get him to make good on the checks but were unsuccessful. Scoca was charged with one count of Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, and two counts of Issuing a Bad Check, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned in the Town of Carmel Court, where he was remanded back to the Putnam County Correctional Facility, where he was being held on an unrelated charge. He is due in the Town of Southeast Court at a future date.
Also on January 28, investigators arrested year-old Percy Dickinson of Freeport, NY, the last of three suspects wanted for a burglary in the Town of Southeast in April of At that time, a deputy was dispatched to a residence on Briar Drive for a report of a break-in to a garage and the larceny of two ATVs and a motorcycle.
It was determined that the homeowners had listed these items for sale on Facebook Marketplace and it is believed that the suspects were able to gather information from the posting in order to commit their crime. Over nine months, investigators were able to track down leads, which included reviewing video camera footage in the area and were able to identify suspects. Both subjects were arraigned in the Town of Southeast Court, charged with Burglary 2nd degree, a class C felony, and three counts of Grand Larceny 3rd degree, a D felony.
