If you're into online dating, you can now do it while you're flying. Airdates is an app that's kind of like Tinder, you can chat with other passengers on the plane without internet. Once you get to the airport, you're supposed to check in on the app, then you can scan for people around you and start chatting. The app encourages all passengers to post their travel itinerary ahead of time so they can see other passengers on the flight.
Swanson says online dating is normal these days, and it's too bad the wrong people have taken advantage of dating apps. There are a lot of people using for the wrong reasons. It's like well, I am in town, and I am on a business trip or whatever and you are going to go hookup with someone quick.
Others we spoke with have some concerns. One dad we spoke with says he wouldn't want his daughter using it. There is potential danger in strangers knowing your travel plans, and there's always a risk of being harassed.
