It begins with the most gentle progression, Quan and Anna slowly helping each other figure out what they need. This is a really good story that lets broken people heal each other without ever letting their relationship become toxic. Anna and Quan have clear boundaries which they respect with each other and I liked how Anna constantly said how much Quan made her feel safe. My only critique is the last fifty pages feel rushed; probably because she was trying to get to that happy ending after pages of dense emotion.
But then my phone buzzes with a new message from Anna. I was just thinking about you too. And there, at the end, is a red heart, just like mine. I stare at her message for the longest time, completely stunned out of my rage. I read about this in Cosmo. I read Bridgerton I i. The Viscount Who Loved Me is more of the same: our very charming heroine, Katherine, wants nothing to do with Extremely Eligible Anthony but hijinks are destined to bring them together. Featherington in particular is absolutely hilarious:.
Featherington just let out a loud, disdainful, and rather nasal sniff. Featherington said officiously. My god, I would die. This is the kind of stuff I actively avoid in romance novels. Is the book worth it regardless? Am I very annoyed about it? Featherington and the three elder Featherington daughters Prudence, Philippa, and Penelope, none of whom wore colors beneficial to their complexions β¦ Colin stepped up, clutching the black mallet like the Holy Grail.
This one: a high-energy romcom from London to the countryside commences when Katie gets fired by evil boss Demeter. But when Demeter and a former β very hot β boss show up, Katie gets in a little too deep. What a treat. Hijinks galore. In particular, I loved that the heroine and Demeter, her one-time tormenter, become friends: felt very Fuck You to the Man Upstairs.
I cared less about the hero, Alex; he seemed a little random. Unpredictable and exciting. Also: very funny. The running gag with Steve is hilarious. This is an understatement.
