The Research Concierge Program has gained a new feature, the Research Proposal Repository , which offers access to recent examples of successful proposals, from the narrative to the budget form, to aid faculty at all levels and disciplines in submitting to a large variety of funding agencies.
The concierge program, begun in , already has a research navigation service β a kind of help desk β as well as a copy editing service, a cache of resources to help researchers find new funding opportunities, and a learning lab of short, very focused instructional videos.
The Research Proposal Repository, says Kerri Jackson, who leads the concierge program, was developed in response to faculty requests for successful proposals to review as models.
The repository opened on Jan. The repository includes proposals to major federal agencies, such as the National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation, as well as local foundations. It is searchable by funding agency, campus, school or department that applied, funding type or keyword. The repository will allow faculty to see what has changed in the application process at individual agencies, foundations and state and local funding sources β and how other grant seekers have answered new questions.
Of course, being online, the repository is always available. Looking to automate the process of proposal posting as much as possible β since it requires a lot of redaction of personal data, data from research partners and specific budget amounts βthe repository has automated most of the process, Woodward says. It employs an outside firm that uses AI to take the first pass at securing the document, requiring only faculty approval to make it final and faculty review to make sure all the right materials have been caught.
