WCTV - A community drive took place Friday to collect period supplies in Tallahassee for people who may not be able to afford them.
It was the culmination of a month-long initiative to collect period products for menstruating people in need and to end the stigma around periods, according to a press release from the Tallahassee-Leon County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls. People stopped by the St. Organizer Danielle Dozier with the Oasis Center for Women and Girls said the event aims to help ease the financial burden associated with buying these products. Event organizers said they will hand out the donations at a community-wide distribution soon.
The following groups helped organize and host the event, per the press statement:. Have a news tip or see an error that needs attention?
