Brie Larson is early to lunch at Brooklyn Diner. The thing is, year-old actress and filmmaker Brie Larson is not really famous.
Not yet, anyway. And if she has it her way, she might not ever be. Short Term 12 is the feature film from Destin Cretton, who loosely based the film on his experience working at a group foster-care facility for abused, orphaned, or otherwise neglected teenagers who cannot live at home. Larson plays Grace, a supervisor at the center, opposite John Gallagher, Jr.
But fans accustomed to seeing Larson banter with Chevy Chase on Thursday nights should probably get used to seeing her in more psychologically complex roles.
And despite her candid demeanor, she is actually quite introspective. That Larson cares deeply about her craft as an actor, then, is not at all surprising. The method seemed to work. Larson is well aware that her least favorite parts of her job are the very ones that often make actors successful.
