The PC brigade have struck yet again. Going mental about Clarkson's lorry driver jokes on Sunday's episode of top gear. I think that by now most people know that he's the type of person who says things that can be offensive so I don't really know why they bother watching it. There's always 5th Gear for those who are easily offended. What annoys me is that people clearly know what the content of the show is going to be before they watch. Its like flicking over to Playboy TV and complaining about nudity.
If you are offended by Clarkson, don't watch him. The PC brigade irritate the hell out of me. Oh, almost forgot, I'm going to complain about the weather that was shown last night on BBC1. I didnt agree with it and found it racist towards the clouds and wind. No topical and quite graffic and abusive. I thought the joke was pretty funny myself.
It's so unlikely that he'd genuinely want prostitutes to be mown down by HGV drivers as to make the complaints ridiculous. Just because he referred to Hamond's horse in a previous programme as "soon to be UHU" didn't in reality mean he wanted the beast turned into glue.
I dont think it was offensive at all, anybody that took it as a slur on lorry drivers needs their head checked. It was clearly having a pop at Steve Wright and i'd have expected maybe 5 complaints Sorry, I thought he said HIV drivers. Mark Thompson, Director General of the BBC, was on the Andrew Marr show on sunday and more or less said that people have a rough idea of the type of personalities on certain shows and if you don't like them, don't watch them.
Careful now. Not in the same league offensively and deservedly won't spark the same outrage. Even Daily Mail readers like me can see it's funny.
