Before I move on to the last album from the alphabet, first a look back at this mornings breakfast tunes. Controversial statement ahead. No More Color is my favourite album by Swiss avant-grade band Coroner. Pitchshifter are up there as one of my favourite British outfits. Rezet are a German thrash band and Ukrainian thrashers Zombie Attack might have picked their name from some other German bands album?
The final track is yet another interlude piece, this time by King Diamond. In the same year that Kreator released Pleasure to Kill, their punishing sophomore album, a fresh from school Tankard released their first offering and it was a much more fun and tongue in cheek affair in comparison, but still had the thrash energy much like Acid Reign in the U. Due to this the band often takes a back seat to real life events and lengthy tours are something long in the past. Now select dates are scheduled around their day jobs.
Can you imagine thousands of slightly tipsy metal heads jumping around and spraying warm over priced beer to Empty Tankard? Their last British show was last year when they played Lords of the Land in Glasgow.
That was their very first Scottish show after all these years. My previous times have been in the Netherlands and Spain.
Seeing as is looking like a gig washout then if I get to see them next year it keeps inline with the 24 month sequence. I personally think it is the correct four bands and they are in the right places when you actually take into account the criteria for the slots. The British scene always seemed a lot more underground and insular. Plus most were deemed to be pale imitations of what was flooding eastwards across the Atlantic.
