Since there has been a bit of interest in this subject and we have been rained off drilling wheat all week I thought I would take some photos of the UK modifications fitted to 52 and s. The big red pull type knob on the dash is for hazard warning, all the indicators go on together.
Any other questions just ask, I don't think I have forgotten anything. FSB, I forgot to mention that the s had some of their half shafts chopped off because of their width. As for the fender extensions, its for highway lighting, the earlier imported Snoopys had a box section welded onto the outside edge of the fender with lights attached to it back and front.
I think these extensions look much better. The speed limit is legally 20mph, even with todays 50kph tractors, I think if the tractor is over 9 feet wide the speed limit drops to 15mph, that will be why the halfshafts were chopped on the s. The fender extensions are a bolt in job, they have holes in all the right places to go between the fender and the cab, there is only a hole to drill into the original fender where it bolts to the rear hole in the cab pillar.
We run on the road with duals but you have to be careful. Here is a photo of my 2wd showing the extensions. I knew I had a top photo somewhere, just found it! This is off my 4wd, I had to make these as the old ones were half rotted away. Like those steps, and the foot throttle I am going to duplicate I have to ask you, what is the point of those hitches?
Never understood those. Paul, thanks for us all of the different options that the UK tractors could have on them. Makes me wonder why none of those things could be offered here in the States??
