The earlier first pattern leather scabbard throat carries the Royal Cypher of Kaiser Wilhelm II, King of Prussia above crowned acceptance stamp , the leather, stitching and metalwork are all intact. The bayonet is contained in an M Bavarian Ersatz metal scabbard. Ersatz bayonets were manufactured in local workshops, resulting in hundreds of variations with solid steel hilt and spring catch which works perfectly. It has a half hoop, one piece stepped muzzle ring.
It has a mm clean fullered blade and a steel washer which has just light staining consistent with age and is complete with its original steel scabbard.
