To live a life free from abuse and harm is a basic human right. We are all responsible for the protection of people at risk from abuse. Vulnerable adults rely on us to take the right steps to help keep them safe.
To ignore abuse and neglect is to allow it to continue and that is never acceptable. The document specifies the safeguarding competencies required at Levels 1 to 5, and additionally, for executive and non-executive directors at Board level. Health Education England HEE has worked with subject matter experts to develop a set of high quality, national resources for Levels These two levels provide an introduction to the requirements and responsibilities for Safeguarding Adults.
The two modules also address the learning outcomes defined in the UK Core Skills Training Framework and are aimed at the following staff:. This level is for registered health and care staff who engage in assessing, planning, intervening and evaluating the needs of adults where there are safeguarding concerns as appropriate to their role. Whether your organisation wishes to take a blended learning approach or entirely face to face approach to training Level 3 Safeguarding Adults, HEE has developed resources to suit either approach.
A workshop toolkit comprising a guide to run a full-day face to face training session, slides, handouts and video resources. For organisations wishing to tailor the solution, the workshop guide, slides and handouts are available for download and can be adapted.
