The commute from San Rafael to San Francisco? Will I be able to afford living there?
Does San Rafael have a high crime rate? Anything else I need to know before I make the move? Any advice or tips will be appreciated. As a single male in his 30s living in the area, i say YES!!!!!! The weather is pretty nice, moderate summers, relatively mild winters, a few days over , a few days below freezing, FWIW, it was in the 70s today.
The commute to SF is bad, but you can take the bus or ferry. You can afford it, but it isn't cheap, I make less and live comfortably. Some neighborhoods have a higher crime rate than others, but overall this place is safe.
Downtown is a fun, farmers markets, live music and great food. Anything else or more specific, post up or shoot me a PM Matt. Maybe a 2 bedroom apartment. Houses in Marin are expensive. With roommates it could be doable. Originally Posted by mayorhaggar. Have you priced places in the Bay Area, specifically San Raphael yet?? Do not assume that just because a property is renting for what seems to you like a huge amount, it is a nice, modern home in a nice area. My understanding is that San Raphael is mostly nice though. Marin City is the designated crime-ridden minority ghetto for Marin County.
