It was so much fun that we decided not to head back at to catch the last train and instead stay out until 5am when they started back up. Tokyo is an interesting place after 3am, or at least the part of Tokyo where we were. At around then I left the bar and waited outside for my new friends to come out. I had only been approached by a prostitute once before that night.
I even got to break up a fight between two of them after one punched the other in the face. I have to say, though, it was a lot of fun sitting out in front of the bar talking with the African immigrants who promote the clubs and the prostitutes waiting for another foreign-looking person to walk by.
I finally got back to the hostel at around am and proceeded to sleep straight through until pm. I had already done two of the three things I most wanted to do in Tokyo, go to a club and eat sushi I got some before catching my train back the night before.
That only left karaoke, which I luckily got the chance to do the following night after a decidedly unorganized game of kings with a bunch of people at my hostel. My last full day in Tokyo before heading up to Morioka to see my sister Christine was more like the traveling I usually do. I got up absurdly early to go check out the fish market sadly I was too late to watch the tuna auction. It was truly amazing the varieties of fish and seafood people were selling, some alive some otherwise. I had never seen a full-sized tuna until that day, they are rather enormous.
There were a bunch of sushi places scattered around. Some had lines 20 people long waiting to get in. I found a more hole-in-the-wall looking place, one with almost nothing written in English and decided to try there. In between serving other people at the bar there were no tables he would come over and teach me how to say things in Japanese. After sushi I proceeded to just wander around the city for the rest of the day. I always find that this is the best way to see a city, you find things that you never would have found otherwise.
