The hardened or taut band may feel like a pea buried deep in the muscle which maintains a hard contraction on the muscle fibers connected to it. Shiatsu relies on the use of fingers, thumbs and palming with pressure on the meridians to correct imbalance in the body. Thai incorporates stretching and smooth flowing massage strokes to stimulate circulation and flexibility.
