Hello and nice to see you again. Here are some things to consider about making music videos. Put it on your youtube channel but make sure to link to all those that helped you make your video, if they would like that attention. Again, always link and give proper credit.
Being kind will get you so much further than being stingy or lying. It is dishonest and treats the other person as an object to be manipulated by you. Do you want lots of views or just a place to host your video? Here are some thoughts on that…. A If you want a place to host your songs so you can tell folk to check your music out there, then simply put a still shot of whatever you like up over the video. Done and done! B If you want a lot of views then you will need to come up with something visually interesting to make your video worth watching, not just listening too.
Here your choices are limited by your imagination and budget, and friend pool. There are many music videos that are watched far more because of the visuals than the songs. That hurts as a musician, but sometimes the truth does hurt.
If you want the views do something cool. Animate it, create a story video, do weird visuals, whatever you thinks works for the song. Have I mentioned giving credit to all those who help you along the way? C If you want near ONLY other guitar players to watch your videos… then record yourself in a room playing the song. Those videos seem to reach an exclusively same instrument focus group and rarely people from the outside world.
D Click Bait. Going for the obvious and shameful? Good or bad, pretty girls sell everything you can imagine, including music videos. You can also use something odd that matches your song but fascinates people to see more how the video relates to the picture. Now that clip on tuners are everywhere and their price is amazingly low, it might be time to wonder what is better, a clip on or a plug in.
