Seeing him get on stage and really morph into me on stage. For example, smashing Priority Records with a baseball bat over payment issues; did that happen as we see in the movie? Was something like that hard to see your son re-enacting, or for you, Shea, to do that and know your father really did that? IC: It was actually fun for me to watch. Just to see him re-enact it, just to see how they shot it.
So I just enjoyed watching it. It was just really about enjoying the awesome job that everybody did and being so proud of it. OSJ: That particular scene, the office scene, I was very passionate about that scene. I fought for that scene. I understand how movies work. But that scene, I needed it because it meant a lot not only to the film but to my family.
I think you can see the passion I have during that scene. OSJ: Two takes. Two takes. This is their book of N. IC: Yeah, it did happen that way. I was nervous; I thought they was going to shoot the whole bus up. The reason we put it in the movie was because we wanted to show the obstacles, the reasons why this music came to life.
