It requires considerable knowledge of anatomy and it is practiced here exclusively by experienced physicians. They place the filler material deep into the tissue using a special, sharp needle inserted vertically and evenly distribute it into these deep layers while withdrawing the needle.

In the depot technique, small amounts of the filler material are deposited in a targeted fashion in the deepest layers right above the bone, mostly to restretch ligaments and thus the prior facial fullness and facial contours are reconstructed.
