Dawsy and several others talked recently to members of the Chronicle Editorial Board about space needs, months after some, like Administra- tive Judge Patricia Thomas, said they had run out of room.
The judge said things are only going to get worse with popula- tion growth and the demand for services. Several constitutional offi- cers, including Supervisor of Elections Susan Gill, were to appear before the county com- mission last Tuesday to discuss their latest concerns.
The meeting had to be rescheduled because of Tropical Storm Alberto, and a new date has not been decided. The cancellation of the board meet- ing last week due to Tropical Storm Alberto will result in two makeup meet- ings. By coincidence, those meetings will take place during the same time frame as two special commission meetings to interview and hire a new county admin- istrator. The first of the special meetings to select an administrator begins today at 9 a. Commissioners will collectively interview all five candidates for an hour each.
