W tym tekście autor pokazuje na jednym przykładzie, jak G. Minois opacznie przedstawia źródła, a przez to nadaje im nowy sens, niezgodny z oryginałem. W rezultacie na podstawie lektury jego dzieła można odnieść mylne wrażenie, co do sytuacji opisanych w źródłach. W artykule ukazano znane źródłowo fragmenty z jego życia na tle środowiska w którym działał i jego relacje z otoczeniem. Franciszek Salezy Gawroński — was a Napoleonic soldier, politician, social activist and diarist. Of particular importance in his oeuvre is his previously unpublished memoir written during his travels across Europe in the years — This work, written in a highly individual style, is clearly different from other non-fiction works written in the Romantic era — which is why it deserves special attention.
The article consists of two parts. In the first, I present the most important information about the author of the diary and generally characterise the content of this work. In the second part I present a fragment of the diary written during his stay in Paris. At that time Gawroński met with many representatives of the Polish emigration including Adam Mickiewicz, Adam Jerzy Czartoryski and General Henryk Dembiński and took part in important events in the Polish community.
The aim of this article is to draw the attention to the formation process of the theatre history on the basis of the dominant perception of phenomena, relations between them and the oeuvre of the artists, which has been shaped by the selected research methods. The material, which constitutes the exemplification for the necessity of turning towards the unconventional readings of the sources seen as not so credible, is the autobiography, with the special focus on the anecdotes which are prevalent in it.
